Four-hour introduction to solo canoeing. Discover the increased comfort, added ability to change how you sit, and the capacity to carry more stuff made possible by solo canoeing. Learn how to enter and exit a solo canoe, understand how kneeling or sitting can change your stability and boat control, and how to apply a C-stroke and a J-stroke in order to keep your canoe heading in your chosen direction without ever changing sides. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of using a traditional canoe paddle versus a kayak paddle in a solo canoe and how to heel for more maneuverability. With solo canoes weighing as little as 20 lbs a this may be the direction your paddling needs to go.
