CanoeSport Outfitters at the Raccoon River Park Boathouse, offers a variety of non-motorized boats for paddling on the lake. Blue Heron Lake is a no-wake lake with plenty of shoreline to explore. There are many small sandy beaches offering places to picnic and kids to play. There are many species of fish in the waters and anglers often have good luck fishing. Our rentals include paddles and lifejackets and are available for 1/2 hour, hour, and daily rates.
Weather Statement:
Staff reserves the right to delay opening and/close when threatening weather is in the area. When winds exceed 20 mph, and at staff discretion, rentals will be limited and/or close for a period of time. Please check Facebook for updates and/or call CanoeSport Cell: 515-339-5582.
