Guided Trip To The Louisiana Coast November 5th - 10th, 2006

CanoeSport staff and seven excited customers enjoyed five days of paddling in Louisiana from November 6th through November 10th. Warm weather in 70's and 80's along with moderate winds provided great conditions for paddling.

Monday and Tuesday everyone explored the sloughs and bayous around and on Lake Fausse. A small storm on Monday afternoon ended the day a little short, but the next day we were rewarded with sunny skies and paddled to a grove of 300 hundred year old cypress trees.

Wednesday everyone traveled to Cypremort Point on the coast. We all managed a short paddle before settling into our cabins again. Near perfect weather set up two great days of paddling in Vermillion Bay.

Thursday was highlighted by a twenty mile paddle with a five mile open crossing to Marsh Island. On Friday the group explored the salt water marshes and chutes along the coast.
