Description

This is the ideal course for beginners who want to enjoy small, protected bodies of water and stay relatively close to shore. It focuses on using short kayaks with large cockpits and limited flotation which reduces or eliminates the ability to do deep water rescues. We discuss the limitations of recreational kayaks, cover small boat safety, address boat fit, work on safe wet exits, and teach basic strokes.

Meet at the Lake Ahquabi boat rental building near the beach. Bring a change of clothes and dress to get wet.

Cost is $50 plus tax
